Welcome to the OSU ID Center Website.
The OSU Card is the official identification card for students, faculty and staff.
It functions as a meal card, library card and more!

How to Get an ID Card
All persons applying for an OSU ID card must come to the ID Center in person and present proper identification (valid driver's license, state ID card, military ID, or passport) for card issuance unless otherwise specified. You will receive your OSU ID card immediately after your photo is taken. Please be aware that a card fee may apply. Please choose the appropriate status category from the choices below for more information.

  • Incoming Students
    Incoming Freshmen and Transfer students who attend START (summer advising and registration program) will have their photos taken and receive their ID cards during their START session. Incoming students may also obtain their ID card from one week before and throughout their first term of registration. For Fall term, incoming students may obtain their ID card anytime throughout the summer as well.
  • Graduate and Professional Students
    Graduate students may obtain their ID card from one week before and throughout their first term of registration. For Fall term, incoming graduate students may obtain their ID card anytime throughout the summer as well.
  • Readmitted Students
    Students who re-enroll after an absence may obtain a new ID card, or in most cases, they may continue using their old ID card. Their ID card is automatically re-activated when they are registered for the current term.
  • Distance Education Students
    Students who are studying off campus may obtain their ID card as long as they are registered with OSU. They may request a non-photo ID card to be mailed to them by phoning or emailing the ID Center anytime after their official Admission to the University.

  • Dual Admission/Enrollment Students
    (Community College/OSU Dual Admission and Enrollment Program)
    Students who have dual admission status with OSU and one of several Oregon community colleges may obtain their OSU ID card even if they are only registered for classes at the community college. They have access to library and computer lab resources at OSU, but not to student fee funded facilities and services such as Recreational Sport.
  • Faculty/Staff
    Regular Faculty and classified staff may obtain their OSU ID Card at the ID Card office. You will need to bring with you proper identification and a copy of your welcome letter. Your welcome letter will be sent to you and your payroll coordinator by email. The letter will contain your OSU ID number and your classification. We cannot issue an ID card until Human Resources has processed your paperwork.
  • Temporary Employees
    Temporary employees are not eligible to receive an OSU ID Card. However you may purchase a special membership card for $20 to be able to use the Dixon Recreation Center. (Purchase of a membership is required at Dixon.)
  • Visiting Scholars
    -Courtesy Faculty are eligible for a Courtesy Faculty ID card. You will need to bring with you proper identification and a copy of your welcome letter. Your welcome letter will be sent to you and your payroll coordinator by email. The letter will contain your OSU ID number and your classification. We cannot issue an ID card until Human Resources has processed your paperwork.
    -Affiliate Faculty may obtain their ID Card at the ID card office by bringing the letter of Notice of Affiliate Faculty Status received from their department to the ID Center along with photo identification.
    -International visiting scholars may obtain their ID Card as outlined above after they have contacted the Office of International Education.
  • Recreation Center Membership Cards
    Those eligible for a Dixon "special" Membership include temporary OSU employees, Recreation Center instructors, and dependents of staff/faculty/students. Please bring photo identification when purchasing the card. You can obtain the special member card at the ID Center for $20. Please bring photo identification when purchasing the card.

What your Card can do

Your OSU ID Card provides access to the following services. Different fees may apply based on student, employee or other card status.

  • Athletic Events
  • Dixon Recreation Center
  • Valley Library
  • Campus Dining and Coffee Shops*
  • Campus Convenience Stores*
  • Student Involvement (class notes)
  • Craft Center (supplies, fees)
  • Corvallis Transit - ride free (students & employees only)

Lost or stolen card?

Report lost cards to the ID Center to protect your card account from unauthorized use. Any use of funds before a lost card is reported to the ID Center is the responsibility of the cardholder. You may call 737-2493 or email id.center@oregonstate.edu.

To get a replacement card, visit the ID Center and show photo identification. The cost for a replacement card is $25.00. Your new ID card will be ready immediately.


OSU Card Cash

Use this convenient debit plan available on your OSU ID card account by adding money at the ID Center, Valley Library or online at mycard.oregonstate.edu, OSU's online card office. Your ID Card becomes a campus debit card for purchasing food at all campus food locations and for photocopies at the Valley Library. (Resident Hall students have a separate meal plan through Housing for food purchases only.) Your Card Cash balance rolls over each term as long as you have current student or employee status at OSU.

MyCard allows you to manage your Card Cash campus debit account online. You may view your OSU Card Cash; view past Card Cash transactions; add money to your OSU Card Cash account; set up, update and manage OSU Card Cash contributors other than yourself; and deactivate or reactivate your lost OSU ID Card.


Regulations of Card Cash account:
Abandoned accounts (not enrolled/employed at OSU for 180 days) may be forfeited to the University. Any use of Card Cash funds before a lost card is reported to the ID Center is the responsibility of the cardholder. Refunds of account balance, minus a $10 service charge, will be made only if you're terminating enrollment or employment at OSU. Partial withdrawals are not allowed.


Resident Hall Dining:

Resident Hall students use their ID card for access to their University Housing & Dining meals. For more info visit their website at http://oregonstate.edu/uhds/dining.


Affiliate Information:

The spouse or domestic partner of current OSU students, staff, and faculty can use the Affiliate Card for checking out Valley Library materials, membership purchase and entry at Dixon Recreation Center, and certain Athletic ticket discounts.

Both the OSU student, staff or faculty member and their spouse or domestic partner must bring photo ID to the ID Center and sign an Affidavit of Marriage or an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership. OSU requirements for Domestic Partnership status are available at the ID Center. Affiliate ID card fee is $20.00. The affiliates card expires when the OSU student/employee leaves OSU.


Associate Information:

Permanent employees of certain organizations and governmental agencies that are housed on OSU campuses and provide teaching, research or funding for OSU programs are eligible for an Associate ID card. Associates are eligible to purchase Recreational Sports (Dixon) memberships, ONID (OSU Network ID) accounts, OSU Card Cash account, and checking out materials at Valley Library. Associates are not eligible for free Corvallis Transit bus rides, remote access to Valley Library databases or interlibrary loan privileges.  Associate ID card fee is $20.00.

Department Copy Cards:

For copying at the Library using departmental or grant funds, a departmental copy card must be obtained at the ID Center. To add additional funds to the copy card you may email id.center@oregonstate.edu. Please include your name, card number (found on back of card), amount to be added, and the index you would like charged.


ID Badge Design & Production:

OSU Departments who would like their employees to wear a photo/name badge may request that a badge be created through the ID Center. The badge is the same size and shape of the regular ID card and may be tailored to your needs. Initial set up fee is $25 and $5 per badge. Lanyards, ID card pockets and clips may be purchased for an additional fee. If you would like more information please contact the ID Center at 737-2493 or email casey.dale@oregonstate.edu.


Convenience Cards:

Available to the general public for use in paying for copies and printing at the Valley Library and for purchases at all campus food locations and the Craft Center.

Convenience cards may be purchased for $1.00 at the ID Center or at the Library. Then you need to deposit funds in order to make purchases.
